About SkillSpring Foundation
SkillSpring Foundation is a student-led nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young people with the financial knowledge and entrepreneurial skills they need to succeed.
Practical skills for a stronger future.
Founded by Arnav Patel, Umer Cheema, and Dev Patel, SkillSpring was created to address a gap in traditional education: the lack of practical financial literacy. We believe that every student, regardless of their background, deserves the opportunity to learn how to manage money, make informed financial decisions, and turn ideas into reality.
Through interactive workshops at the Boys & Girls Club, school sites at PS 15 and PS 41, and Jersey City Public Libraries, we make financial education accessible, engaging, and practical. Our lessons cover budgeting, saving, responsible spending, and entrepreneurship.
Activities like our Mock Shark Tank challenge encourage students to think creatively, develop business ideas, and apply what they have learned to real-world situations. Since our founding, we have reached over 500 students, helping young people build confidence in their financial futures.
At SkillSpring, our work goes beyond teaching financial concepts. We are working to equip the next generation with the skills, confidence, and opportunities to build a stronger future for themselves and their communities.
